Etsy Reviews

Some very strange experiences with Etsy. The account was suspended from the 1st day without any product upload and then unlocked after appeal. Then I was suspended again for the 2nd time after I uploaded my 1st product. I appealed again as I cannot see what the issues were. They finally emailed me stating that they permanently closed my account due to violations. However, they cannot explain why and they will not respond to any questions.
I strongly believe that if a company is going to close your account, they should at least explain what the violations were instead of just quoting the Terms links. The product that I was aiming to sell is not dissimilar to other products they have on their site for sale.
I would not recommend them as they cannot provide clear guidelines and they can close you without explanation and based on their own subjective judgments. Imagine having a store full of products for sale with this sort of dictatorial power looming over you!

If you plan to set up and sell merchandize through Etsy's or any other "store" platform, you are at their mercy, and they may or may not explain why they shut your store down. I'm a newbie with Etsy, and had only created a listings. Then with no warning what-so-ever, my account was suspended. When I clicked through to contact customer service, of course speaking with a "person" is not an option. I had to fill out their little form for an inquiry, and was told I'd have to wait up to a week for a response. So, there I sit...

What's scary about this is, what if I had succeeded and was selling regularly through my Etsy store, and boom - the store is gone. Not for minutes or and hour or so, but for days, or even a week?! Can you imagine the damage that would do to your momentum and credibility?!

Etsy did respond today to let me know all was well with my store, but didn't tell me why they shut it down. If I did something wrong I'd like to know, so I don't do it again. The more products I load, the more opportunity there may be for me to violate one of their policies.

Using a platform of this nature is the best and most cost effective means of getting up and running, but that easy comes at price - you're not in control. The folks who are, are too busy building their business to worry about how their actions may affect your piddly little store. If they suspend your account by accident or even legitimately... Whoops, it sucks to be you!

The very existence of a site that is so rampant with overtly false and fraudulent products like this one is just beyond the scope of plain common sense. I have personal experience dealing with these people. If you think buying a used car is a mental nightmare, try communicating with these people. They make used car salesmen look like saints. The most obvious sign to me is even their advertising photographs are blatantly incorrect as to what they are trying to con you into buying. This site would be comical to any individual who has just basic level knowledge of a product they are considering buying but the big problem that I see is the public may not be aware of all the important characteristics of what they are considering buying and therefore suseptible to being ripped off. Avoid this site at all costs. The feds should have shut this place down years ago.

ETSY is the WORST!
I bought items for 405 from Germany and seller sent from China with fake Documents! The invoice and receipt did not match and DHL could not give me the package! 3 months and ETSY still covers the seller.
Seller openly sais about fake documents etc and no help from ETSY

I've tried 2 times in a row to start a T-Shirt shop, and it got banned for no reason, their replies are the same - stock replies, no explanations, only bots replying to you. They don't give a reason for why they close the shop and that's the last reply of them when they close your shop. Stay away from this site and look for other sites to start selling, I was looking forward to start selling on Etsy as my full-time job and they deny it, making it even more difficult for me.

Ever wonder why every seller seems to have a 4.5 to 5 star rating? Mediocre reviews are not posted. By Etsy's own published policies, you can only post a picture of the item you received if you are giving a five star review. There are many talented, hard-working creators on Etsy, but as a buyer you are not getting the full picture from reviews.

Disgusting way to treat their customers. Like many other people I have been struggling financially over the past 12+ months. I opened a shop and was doing well selling items. I made over £200 in the first two weeks. Never had a bad review or a problem with my customers. Out of the blue one day I tried to log in to find my account had been suspended. No explanation at all. I had received half of my money 3 days before this, but now have to wait 6 months for them to release my other £100. I was on chat with customer services and they are so cold hearted it’s shocking (looking at you Lez). Do not sell on Etsy!

It’s not bad or excellent but it never hurts to try just don’t believe every single one

Appalling -Poor quality & broken,definitely not as advertised. Its just like throwing your money down a drain!

Ive order from them on March 1st sent an email March 3rd sayiny it was shipped still haven't received my stuff ive emailed them 3 times still have not heard back will not be doing business with this Company anymore
